Making A 360 Change

“Unless you are prepared to give up something valuable you will never be able to truly change at all, because you’ll be forever in the control of things you can’t give up.”- Andy Law

Have you ever felt like you wanted to make a 360 change in life? I myself am in the process of making a drastic change in life. As easy as it sounds, it is a major process that we have to go through. Yes, I agree with the saying that in order to make a change you have to begin changing from within. The change within starts with your mindset and making the decision to change. However, a real change doesn’t occur until some of your externals change.

When I turned 25, I told myself that I will embark on a new journey in life. A journey in which I will step out of my comfort zone and do what I feel is best for me. This is when I made the decision to make a change. Once that decision was made internally, I began changing the externals around me, including my environment.

When I say the word environment, I am referring to everything that surrounds me. Our environment affect us in some way, shape, or form. It could make us feel happy, drained, or even depressed. From a personal standpoint, I feel like my environment is too common to me. My environment is attached to so many things that keep me from moving forward. I need a new environment to prosper in. I’ve been living in the same area for 10+ years. Seeing the same area so frequently became so mundane to me. Whenever I travel to new areas, I get so enthused and intrigued by the smallest things. I am currently in the process of relocating to a new area and hopefully to a new state in 2019 or at least 2020. Who knows, it could be earlier.

The industry we work in can be another part of our environment. I’ve been working in my current field for 7 years. I’ve seen many kids go from elementary students to high schools students. I started with 4th grade and that class is now juniors in high school. I think it’s time for me to do something new. Something that I’m more passionate about. I’m in the process of trying new hobbies to see if I can find a passion in which I can transform into a career.

Change does not come easy. It is a whole process that must occur to make that change. Sometimes we even let fear get in the way when attempting to make change. Just be patient with yourself and believe that you can make a 360 change when you are ready. It takes passion.
