My View On Trust

“Learning to trust is one of life’s most difficult tasks.”- Isaac Watts

Trust is one of the biggest things that we can give to another individual. To trust is to be vulnerable. You are opening up a special part of you that no one else has seen. You are giving someone a transparent view of yourself. Trust is something that should not be given easily. A person should have to work for your trust.

But what happens if that trust is broken? What do you do? Do you cut the person out of your life? Do you give them another chance? Do you close yourself off to everyone else after being betrayed?

These are some of the questions that run through my head. People who I’ve known for years who I trusted are no longer around. After sharing some of the most deepest and darkest moments of my life, they are no where to be found. However, that didn’t stop me from giving trust another chance.

It took me some time to realize that instead of trusting people, I should put more of that trust into the universe. Whenever I feel like confiding in someone, I should confide in the universe. Even if I don’t get a response from the universe, I know that I won’t be left behind or betrayed. I know that the universe will never let me down or make me feel unworthy of what I deserve. So this day forward I’m going to make a promise to myself that I will choose to trust the universe over everything else in the world.
