A Lost Dream

In life, there are many clichés that we hear: “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”, “You can’t judge a book by its cover”, “Actions speak louder than words”, the list goes on and on. One of the most common clichés heard is, “Follow your dreams”. This cliché is even linked to another cliché which says, “The sky is the limit.” As good as these clichés may sound, it can leave us with doubts and uncertainties.

What does one do when the dream they once had gets lost? Lost in such a judgmental and opinionated world. What happens when fear takes over and succumbs to the idea that your dream is unattainable? What happens when your voice is drowned out by the noises around you to the point that your dream is now silent? How do you build the courage to locate the dream that has become lost? How do you recover? What are the steps that one should take after taking many different avenues to find out that they’ve lost themselves on their journey? How do you find your way back home? Home to the dream you once had.

The road may be dark and the journey can feel lonely. But, you must find courage to put forth effort in getting back home. Home to your desires, passions, and dreams. Take this time to succumb to faith. Let your faith be bigger than life itself! Let your faith be your steering wheel and use your heart as your GPS. Don’t let the rain and stormy weather deter you from your destination. Don’t give up hope. Don’t give up on yourself. Keep pushing. Stay strong! We are on this journey together.

  1. Beautifully written! . . I constantly remind myself that no one could possibly share the same passion as me when it comes to MY DREAMS. I am responsible for making them manifest despite everything around me 😊
