Compete With Yourself

One of the most detrimental things you can do in life is to compare your life to someone’s. Why do such a thing?

Life isn’t a competition. Everyone has their own time to shine some way or some how. Comparing your life to someone else’s will only make you feel like you have to compete. It will make you rush things that aren’t meant to be rushed. It will cause unnecessary stress. It will cause you to feel like you aren’t where you are meant to be when you truly are.

We aren’t designed to compete with one another. The only person we should compete with is ourselves. Compete with yourself by asking yourself, “How can I be better than I was yesterday?” Then use the answer to that question as a guide of getting to where you want to be.

Challenge yourself. Set goals. But most of all, compete with yourself!
