Remain True To Who You Are

Life is a battlefield. Everyday we face some sort of a challenge that can either make us stronger or weaker, and through it all we must still find a way to remain solid. Sadly, many of us succumb to these challenges and become broken, yet only a select few will take the necessary steps to heal and rebuild.

As beautiful as life can be, it can also be tough. So tough that it can break us down and cause us to lose touch with who we are and who we are meant to become. Tragedies, disappointments, pain, loss, and grief are inevitable. No matter how much we try to avoid these things, they still happen. It’s just something we cannot control, so how do we combat these things when they occur out of the blue?

The best thing we can do for ourselves whenever unfortunate situations occur is to stay true to who we are. We have to identify and connect with who we are deep within. We have to trust and believe in something greater than ourselves. We must remind ourselves that whatever sadness or low feeling we are experiencing is only temporary. We can’t succumb to these feelings and lose ourselves.

I’ve been down and out many times throughout my life. During these experiences, I ended up losing touch with my inner self. I let my circumstances push me more and more away from who I was. It took me years to rediscover my true self and redefine my values and what I stood for. It’s not something that I regret, but it’s something that I vowed will never happen to me again. I’ve learned a valuable lesson of remaining true to who I am despite life’s circumstances, and without pain and disappointment there’s no true growth.

I want to let you know that whatever disappointment you may be facing right now is temporary. It won’t last forever. The only thing that will last forever are the lessons you’ve learned to move past this and to grow from the experience. Don’t lose sight of who you are and who you are meant to become. Trust and believe that everything will be okay.
